A Countryside Escape - Disconnect to Reconnect

Escape to the countryside, to give your mind and body an opportunity to unwind, relax, relish in the powerful practices over the weekend…think of it as a way to disconnect so you can reconnect.

Join me for a 2-night countryside escape. This idyllic South Downs location is surrounded by nature, space and fresh air, to satisfy all of your senses and calm your mind and body.

Barrow Hill Barns is a place very close to my heart, I spent much of lockdown here with my brothers and sister and have been running retreats here for about 4 years. Situated on a working farm, nestled in the heart of the South Downs National Park, it offers far reaching views across the beautiful Hampshire countryside. The pictures really don’t do it justice, you will be totally WOWED upon arrival.

On this short but oh-so-sweet retreat, there’ll be copious yoga sessions (both flow and restorative), meditation, group workshops, a healing gong bath and of course some free time to walk, journal, self reflect and relax. I promise to take you on a journey so you leave a better version of yourself. 

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to disconnect from your day-to-day, and the ‘busyness’ of your life, so you can connect back to yourself, alongside a group of like minded souls. I like to think of it as a coming home to yourself. There is SO much value to be had from going on a retreat, you will go home lighter, more self aware, more empowered, with a range of tools and techniques you can take into your daily life.

THE PRACTICES

After you’ve arrived on the Friday afternoon, we’ll begin with a short opening circle, some yoga to ground you into the space, followed by a delicious dinner. Then a post-dinner nourishing meditation so you can roll off into bed ready for a full day of it the following day.

The follow morning will start with a flow based class, linking movement with breath to empower and invigorate you for the day ahead. You’ll then eat an abundant, delicious breakfast from Jo’s kitchen. 

After this, we’ll do a workshop, which will be related to the mind body connection, learning tools and techniques like breathwork, meditation, self reflection and more, to support your wellbeing. 

We’ll then be gifted with a healing gong bath by the amazing Joe Summerfield from Reshape life, who will take you on a journey with the sound of the gongs. 

The remainder of the afternoon is yours, to walk, relax, read, journal – whatever you feel!

We’ll then meet each other for a restorative yoga session, ending the day by calming your nervous system into deep relaxation. Followed by a yummy dinner for very happy bellies before bedtime!

The final morning will start with a meditation and yoga class, rounding things off with a closing circle over a buffet style brunch.

The yoga classes will be infused with coaching, therapeutic exercises and self-reflective questions for you to bring about more self-awareness and self-discovery alongsie a feeling of inner calm. We will be working with the inner child and higher self-concepts, all of which are things I do with my 1-1 therapy clients and talk about in my ebook – Thrive. Think of them as more of a mind body experience!

THE FOOD

Introducing you to the amazing Jo from Jo’s kitchen, who will be providing us with the goods throughout this retreat. Jo comes alongside her beautiful mother, they both have an absolute passion for creating vibrant plant-based dishes that deliver maximum flavour and maximum nutrition. It’s all about seasonal, whole food that tastes great and just happens to be good for you; a win-win!

BARROW HILL BARNS

These luxury barns feature large open plan kitchen areas overlooking beautiful countryside views. Every bedroom has its own en suite bathroom equipped with complimentary Bramley toiletries. Each of the Hypnos® beds can be made up as super-king size or twin beds.

THE ROOMS

All of the rooms are generously sized, each with an en-suite bathroom for your own privacy.
There is the option to make the beds up as a double or as twins. If you would like your own room, please add on roughly about 40% to the price you see below.

BOXSTEDDLE
This beautiful 2 bedroom barn conversion features many of the original features of the old milking parlour. It hosts all the modern features of a new build, whilst it’s exposed oak beams, flint brickwork and selected antique furnishing give an authentic country cottage feel.

ORCHARD
Orchard Barn is a spacious and accessible 3 bedroom barn. It has designed and styled to complement the history and the landscape rather than stand in contrast to it. With a flint and brick finish, selected antique furnishings and miles of countryside in all directions this barn is definitely a perfect place to relax and retreat.

PUMP MEADOW
Orchard Barn is a spacious and accessible 3 bedroom barn. It has designed and styled to complement the history and the landscape rather than stand in contrast to it. With a flint and brick finish, selected antique furnishings and miles of countryside in all directions this barn is definitely a perfect place to relax and retreat.

YOUR RETREAT PACKAGE
Included in your retreat package is: full accommodation, all meals throughout, yoga, meditation, group therapeutic workshops and a gong bath. 

The Gong Bath
Helping you cultivate a deep relaxation and synchronise your nervous system. Joe from Reshape life is absolutely amazing and will take you on a journey. 

A gong sound immersion is a mind and body experience. You can think of it as an induced meditation, but it offers so much more…Attending a “gong bath” or sound immersion can be a deeply relaxing, restorative, and healing experience. They can also invite deep self-connection and introspection.

We have been lucky enough to have experienced so many of Joe’s wonderful and healing gong baths in this wonderful space. I can’t wait for you to experience it to support your retreat experience. 

TRAVELLING TO BARROW HILL BARNS
You will need to make your own way to the venue, the closest station is Petersfield, which is about 1 hour from London Waterloo. You can then book a local taxi to the venue.

For those of you who wish to drive, there is plenty of parking on site.
